THE WOODLANDS MEMORY CARE CENTER

This Memory Care Center located in Wrightwood, California is designed in a way that prioritizes the integration of natural elements into the built environment. The project emphasizes the harmony between architecture and nature. Research has also shown that exposure to nature can have therapeutic effects for individuals with Alzheimer’s, helping to reduce agitation, improve mood, and stimulate cognitive function.

Key design features include the use of mass timber construction, which not only reduces the carbon footprint but also provides a warm and organic aesthetic. The inclusion of interior courtyards, ample natural light, garden areas, and strategically framed views of the surrounding landscape ensures a strong connection to nature. These elements work together to create environments that are healthier, safer, and more visually engaging.

The project's layout is thoughtfully designed to respond to and align with the contours and features of the site. This approach enhances the experience for residents by maximizing views from living spaces and fostering interaction through dynamic communal areas, both indoors and outdoors.
